We volunteer for a local
animal rescue agency and Marge was placed in our home after she was hit by a car
and suffered a broken leg. Her owner refused to pay for any
treatment and the shelter was going to euthanize her because they
also found her to also be pregnant! We couldn't let that happen.
She had her litter of kittens
right here in April 2007. They stole our hearts and
so we decided to adopt Marge and one of her kittens, LuLu.
These guys have grown up with Caden from practically day one so they
all get along great. LuLu especially is his number one pal and
she can't give him enough kisses and attention.
About three weeks after LuLu was born, we got another call from the
rescue agency desperate to place another litter of kittens that had been
found abandoned in a dumpster. We took in five tiny babies,
nursed them back to health and were able to adopt out three of them
to good homes. We still have two (Sidney and Belinda) living
with us.
Sadly, people are just not keen on adopting black
cats. We've decided to keep them until we can find the best
possible home for them, which at this point will likely be forever
because they've pretty much moved in permanently and don't plan on
leaving.
